Iran expands petchem markets


(MENAFN) The National Petrochemical Company's (NPC) managing director, Abdolhossein Bayat, said that Iran was able to find new markets for its petrochemical exports, reported Tehran Times. Bayat added that at the current time, the company exports it products to 60 countries. He also said that by the end of the current Iranian year (March 19, 2012), Iran's petrochemical exports are forested to reach USD14 billion in terms of value. Furthermore, last year, Iran exported 18 million tons of petrochemicals worth USD11.6 billion, and produced over 40 million tons of petrochemicals. It is worth noting that Iran's petrochemical output represents 24.5 percent of Middle East production.
