Algerian Energy Minister: Oil Prices Will Remain at Reasonable Level

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines Youcef Yousfi said that oil prices are likely to be at a reasonable level in the medium and long terms, pointing out to fears on prices on the short term due to the debt crisis in the euro zone which could have implications on the global economy and the demand for energy. In an interview with the Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the sidelines of the 21st World Petroleum Congress, currently in session in Doha, Yousfi stressed that his country, which has huge reserves of non-traditional fuels like rock gas, is in the process of studying these reserves to assess their volumes and the potential of their use. Responding to a question on the effect of the return of Libya's oil production to the market, Yousfi said Libya is a member of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and has its weight and its share, adding that its short absence will make no change because it will return and take its place.
