Jordan- Hikma Pharmaceuticals inaugurates second venture in Algeria 

(MENAFN - Jordan Times) Amman-based Hikma Pharmaceuticals announced this week the inauguration of Al Dar Al Arabia Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Company in Algeria.

The firm is Hikma's second venture in Algeria after Hikma Pharma, Algeria. The pharmaceutical company announced the completion of the first phase of construction that comprises a 5,850-square-metre unit that will specialise in penicillin manufacturing.

The unit features the latest and most innovative equipment to ensure top quality production from leading international companies, in many dosage forms such as dry suspension, capsules, pills and infusion bags.

Mazen Darwazah, Hikma Pharmaceuticals' executive vice chairman and chief executive officer of the MENA region, said: "We at Hikma are extremely proud of what we have achieved in terms of the expansion of our facilities in Algeria. We are keen to develop Al Dar Al Arabia Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Company's work in the pharmaceutical industry while also providing the latest tools and technology to ensure superior quality in the manufacturing process.

" Hikma Pharma ranked second in 2011 among Algeria's pharmaceutical companies in terms of sales, with a market share of 6.1 per cent.
