(MENAFN Press) Network security provider Cyberoam launches a first-of-its-kind product “ NetGenie wireless routers with in-built security features. The products address the frequent concerns that both parents, and, small office - home office (SOHO) owners have regarding internet usage. The revolutionary NetGenie appliances offer age-wise, easy parental controls that enable parents to ensure that children are protected from harmful internet content, while SOHO users can regulate internet usage to gain higher productivity and security.
NetGenie's age-wise parental controls simplifies internet controls to a single click and provides a simple and safe end-user experience that mitigates the dangers of age-inappropriate content, hackers and cyber-bullying. Small offices will gain from NetGenie's SOHO Unified Threat management, and is the first WiFi-router that comes pre-configured with internet access controls and endpoint security including a firewall, VPN (Virtual Private Network), inbuilt anti-virus and intrusion prevention.
Speaking at the launch, Hemal Patel, CEO Cyberoam, said, "The Middle East markets are gaining higher internet penetration levels. This environment is extremely conducive to the launch of Cyberoam's NetGenie range of WiFi routers that are aimed at the home and SOHO markets. We expect to have a positive response to the launch and are extremely confident that our participation at GITEX Technology Week will pave the way for our growth. This platform will be used effectively to showcase our innovations, discuss trends and build on our channel and consumer relations."
NetGenie's in-built parental controls through the WiFi router is designed to deal with the increasing use of personal internet devices such as laptops, iPads and smartphones and alleviates the need to install filtering software on each device. Parents can feel confident that their children are accessing the internet safely, regardless of where they are using the internet without physically invading on their privacy. The router comes with pre-categorised age-wise lists of appropriate websites, avoiding the need for parents to manually enter these sites. Importantly, NetGenie helps parents create a healthy home routine by being able to schedule website usage according to content during different days of the week and thereby manage and control the children's daily activities.
Today, small businesses are equipped with multiple internet-capable devices, including tablets and smartphones and other devices that include desktops, laptops, etc. NetGenie protects all devices within the SOHO user's networks. The advantage of being able to manage an employee's application and website usage will make a dramatic increase in employee productivity. Besides, employees' online activities can be monitored with real-time reports on websites visited, applications used and attempts made to access blocked websites and applications. NetGenie also allows schedule-based internet access over various website categories and applications for different users.
A clear advantage of NetGenie is the fact that it integrates WiFi access point, security, advanced internet controls, 3G readiness, and more in a single appliance, saving end users on costs and maintenance of separate solutions. NetGenie protects all computing devices in the network from internet threats including viruses, intruders and hackers and enables SOHO users to securely connect to central and vendor offices through IPSec VPN.
NetGenie will be available at all leading retail outlets and superstores. The two models will be approximately priced as NG-11EH - Home “ AED 699 and NG-11EO “ SOHO “ AED 845
