(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwait's State Audit Bureau announced Saturday that it will participate in the 43rd ASOSAI Governing Board meeting and ASOSAI-EUROSAI Joint Conference to be held in Istanbul, Turkey during the period 20-24 September.
In a press statement, the Bureau said the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) meeting would review the Secretary General's reports about the performance of audit bureaus in the organization's member states of 2010.
Participations would also consider the organizations strategic five-year plan (2011-2015).
ASOSAI is one of the Regional Groups of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).
Kuwait State Audit Bureau will also participate in the 1st ASOSAI-EUROSAI Joint Conference to be hosted by Turkish Court of Accounts (TCA) on 22-24 September 2011 in Istanbul.
This Joint Conference between the SAIs of ASOSAI and EUROSAI aims to implement the institutional and technical cooperation between both Organizations.
The theme of the joint conference is "Challenges for Ensuring Transparency and Accountability of the Public Financial Management." EUROSAI (European Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions) is one of the Regional Groups of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI); this Organization groups together the Supreme Audit Institution (SAIs) of 189 countries, full members, and four associate members, and it is listed as a support organization of the United Nations.
The objectives of the organization, defined in article 1 of the Organization's Statutes, are to promote professional co-operation among SAI members, to encourage the exchange of information and documentation, to advance the study of public sector audit, to stimulate the creating of University Professorships in this subject and to work towards the harmonization of terminology in the field of public audit.
