(MENAFN - Arab News) Eight hundred delegates from the world over are set to attend the 1st Middle East Process Engineering Conference and Exhibition 2011 (MEPEC 2011) here in October.

It is being organized by Saudi Arabian Section of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers chaired by A. Mohsen Almajnouni and the Bahrain Society of Engineers led by Majeed Al Gassab, with the support of Energy Minister Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza.

"The conference's significance stems from deepening communications and exchanging experiences among participants, through conducting an integrated technical program discussing important topics," A. Mohsen Almajnouni, conference chairman, said.

"The conference and exhibition serves as an excellent opportunity for sharing knowledge, experiences and lessons learned on contemporary issues affecting industries that are process engineering related," he added.

The conference will provide a unique platform for process and chemical professionals to network and learn about the latest development in the field of chemical processing, understand the constantly evolving trends, technologies, products and solutions to the challenges faced by chemical industries, motored by the conference theme "Toward technological excellence and innovative solutions," he said.

The conference will bring together hundreds of experts from all over the world to share practical experiences, most innovative ideas and strategies for cutting costs and maximizing return on investment (ROI) in process engineering issues related to plant design, operation and maintenance.

"Over the years, the Bahrain Society of Engineers has been a part of various memorable conferences and exhibitions -and let me share this with you all... we always have high expectations and we most certainly constantly achieve them - supported by motivated voluntary members and reputable partners such as Saudi Aramco and Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), and it appears as if the momentum is continuing by hosting MEPEC this year," Abdul Majeed Al Gassab, president of the Bahrain Society of Engineers, said.

In its first edition, MEPEC witnessed an overwhelming response, with more than 44 exhibitors from many local, regional, and international companies, suppliers, manufacturers participating in the exhibition held in parallel with the conference. 32 companies sponsor MEPEC, with Saudi Aramco as the prime sponsor.
