Qatar- Software facility to focus on cloud computing

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Mansoft Qatar, a subsidiary of Mannai Corporation, has signed an agreement with global information technology solutions provider EMC to open its first EMC Velocity2 Signature Solution Centre in Qatar. The Centre is meant to help local businesses in ‘cloud services’ - an emerging trend in information technology. The Centre will focus mainly on consultancy and integration of ‘cloud infrastructure,’ helping customers in their journey towards private ‘cloud computing’ particularly on VBlock Infrastructure Packages, an element of Virtual Computing Environment formed by Cisco and EMC with investments from VMware and Intel. Khalid A Mannai, Executive Director of Mannai Corporation, has assured that the advent of the Velocity2 Signature Solution Centre will not compete with other cloud services providers in Qatar since their role would be playing facilitators to their clients in eventually adopting the inevitable journey towards private cloud computing. Mansoft Solution Centre will replicate a framework of technology that demonstrates EMC Proven solutions in an approved environment. Supported by stringent testing, seamless partner integration and document implementation methodologies, EMC Proven solutions reduce customer risk and ensure faster deployment. The Solution Centre will showcase the Vblock TM Infrastructure Packages allowing customers to run proof of concept for adopting cloud infrastructure, data centre utilisation benefits and application performance. The Solution Centre is designed to host a number of activities including customer briefings, seminars and workshops, showcase live demonstrations of hardware and software, trainings, executive complex proof-of-concept, migration planning, benchmark and performance testing and comprehensive solution development. Prakash Mohapatra, Deputy General Manager of Mannai Networks and Telecom, said the Solution Centre will provide customers with triangular solutions since it will serve as technology centre, facility provider and training to information technology staff of businesses including small and medium-sized enterprises using the Virtual Computing Environment.
