Morocco- Nexans inaugurates aircraft cables factory

(MENAFN- Morocco Business News) Nexans, a world cable industry leader, inaugurated on Thursday in Mohammedia (close to Casablanca), a new plant for manufacturing aircraft cables. Worth about euro 10 million, the plant covers an area of 3,000 m². It is expected to manufacture up to 21,000 km of cables a year, 70% of which will be exported. For this purpose, forty-seven job opportunities were created and 2,300 hours of training have been delivered to the newly hired engineers, technicians and operators. The new plant, which is now operational, is the third of its kind for Nexans, after those in France and the United States. It is the result of an agreement signed in 2008 between Nexans and Airbus for the supply of advanced cables for the aircrafts manufactured by Airbus (A320, A350, and A380).
