Amman Stock Exchange trading report for May 16


(MENAFN- Jordan Times) Sunday’s trading value amounted to JD21.2 million spread over 21.4 million shares traded through 7,239 transactions. The share price index closed at 2,527 points, a drop of 0.85 per cent. Out of 161 companies whose shares were traded, prices of 38 firms rose, and those of 99 entities declined. The top five gainers were Al Barakah Takaful by 4.92 per cent, Al Eqbal Investment by 4.85 per cent, Jordan Commercial Bank by 4.71 per cent, Union Tobacco and Cigarette Industries by 4.58 per cent, and Deera Investment and Real Estate Development by 4.55 per cent. The top five losers were Jordan Vegetable Oil Industries by 5 per cent, Darwish Al Khalili and Sons by 5 per cent, Premier Business and Projects by 5 per cent, Arab German Insurance by 4.96 per cent and Rum Aladdin Industries by 4.92 per cent.
