Qatar- QGIRC posts QR69.5m profit


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar General Insurance & Reinsurance Company (QGIRC) has announced its first quarter results for the year 2010. QGIRC achieved an outstanding result at all the levels resulted in a net profit of QR69.5m compared to QR45.4m for the same period of 2009, showing an increase of 53 percent. The Earning per Share was up to QR2.18 compared to 1.42 for the same period of last year, showing an increase of 55 percent. In addition, as a result of adopting the fair market value policy for its investments properties during the first quarter this year, total assets has increased to QR3.730bn, compared to QR1.667bn for the same period of 2009. Shareholder's equity has increased to QR2.290bn, compared to QR974m for the same period of 2009, with of increase of 135 percent.
