Qatar's Al Ahli Hospital receives influx of patients from GCC states

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Al Ahli Hospital says it is witnessing an influx of patients from the rest of the GCC region, including Saudi Arabia and the UAE. And this is happening despite the fact that the hospital administration has not launched any advertising campaign to woo patients from outside the country. This was disclosed by Abulwahed Al Mawlawi, CEO of the Medicare Group and Managing Director of the Al Ahli Hospital, in remarks to reporters yesterday. Addressing a press briefing held to announce half-yearly results of the Group, he said a lot of investments had been made in infrastructure development and expansion and on bringing in new equipment as also on human resource. ?So we now hope to make more profits in the latter half of this year,? said the CEO. He said the machineries, equipment and new medical technologies in which the group has invested do not exist in any other healthcare establishment. ?As part of the developments taking place at Al Ahli Hospital, we are keen to bring in the best consultants in every speciality, to give quality care to our patients,? Al Mawlawi said. ?Alongside this, the hospital?s profits look set to rise in the second half of the year,? he reiterated. Al Mawlawi also added that the numbers of beds available at the hospital is set to rise by at least 600 over the next two years. Although Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) does not accept any referrals from the private sector, he noted that on the contrary, Al Ahli receives many patients from the government sector in the areas of dermatology, orthopaedics, gastric queries, and women and children?s health.
