(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Algerian Cultural Ministry has earmrked more than 100 million euros to finance the African Cultural Festival due on July 5-20.

A ministry statement released on Thursday said the allocated fund would be used to buy equipment and furnish the participating delegations with all necessary facilities.

A makeshit "village" has been set up for the temporary residency of the 2, 400 participating eminent persons.

Up to 8,000 people, including 4,000 from African countries, will take part in the festival.

The festival, themed "the comback of Africa," will include various theatrical activities, folkloric dancing, musical shows, modeling, lectures and contests.
