(MENAFN - Times of Oman) The MSM-30 index closed nearly flat at 6,170 points yesterday. At the end of the trading session, the advance to decline ratio was at 0.67.1. The total shares traded increased by 20.9 per cent to 9.05 million shares against the previous day's 7.483 million shares. The total value gained dropped by 0.3 per cent from RO4.805 million to RO4.792 million. Among the sectors, the industrial sector gained 0.25 per cent to close at 5,310 points while Banks & Investment index and Services & Insurance sector lost 0.4 per cent and 0.35 per cent to close at 7,368 and 2,849, respectively.
OIFC announced the reversal of earlier decision taken on October 29, 2008 to buy back the shares of the company to the extent of 10 per cent of its capital.
The top two gainers were: Financial Services (7.83 per cent) and Oman Chlorine (4.34 per cent). The top two losers were: Taageer Finance (-19.44 per cent) and Al Sharqia Inv. (-9.02 per cent).
The top two by volume traded were: BankMuscat (2.218 million shares) and Oman United Ins. (1.757 million shares).
The top two by value traded were: BankMuscat (RO1.887 million) and Renaissance Services (RO0.849 million).
