Oman- MSM 30 Index up 1.05% to close at 7,299 points


(MENAFN- Times of Oman) The MSM-30 index moved up 1.05 per cent yesterday to close at 7,299 points. The market breadth was positive at 21 advances and 14 declines, out of the 46 securities that traded. Amongst the sectors, Services & Insurance sector gained 0.24 per cent to close at 3,362 points. The Banks & Investment index gained 0.28 per cent and the Industrials sector moved up by 0.24 per cent to close at 9,218 points and 6,944 points, respectively. The total shares exchanged increased by 1.2 per cent to 10.345 million shares against the previous day's 10.22 million shares and the turnover increased by 4.8 per cent from RO6.594 million to RO6.908 million. The top two gainers were: Sohar Power and Oman & Emirates Investment gained 4.62 per cent and 4.31 per cent to close at RO1.835 and RO0.266, respectively. The top two losers were: Engineering & Invest (-9.93 per cent) and Oman Chemical Ind (-5 per cent) closed at RO0.599 and RO0.095. The top two by volume traded were: Al Jazeira Services (1.434 million shares) and BankMuscat (1.099 million shares). The top two by value traded were: Omantel (RO1.249 million) and BankMuscat (RO 1.086 million).
