(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The price index of Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) dropped 30.1 points on Wednesday and closed at 14,722.7 points for the day, while the weighted index fell 0.23 points to 779.13.
The volume of traded shares came to 411.3 million worth KD 168.4 million, traded in 8,882 transactions.
Four out of KSE's eight indices were gainers today, headed by the non-Kuwaitis with an increase of 119.1 points, then the banking sector with an up of 38.1 points, then real estate with a rise of 33.2 points, and finally the industrial sector with 18.1 points up.
The greatest loser today was the services sector, which lost 243.4 points.
Today's top gainer was Injazzat Real Estate Development Co. share which went up 7.1 percent.
The greatest loser was the share of Kout Food Group after a drop of 7.5 percent.
In terms of volume of traded stocks, Al-Safwa Group Co. was in the lead with 80.4 million traded shares.
Five companies -- Al-Safwa Group, Sokouk Holding, Injazzat, Abraj, and Ektittab -- accounted for 45.1 percent or 185.9 million of the total shares traded today.
