(MENAFN- Times of Oman) The finalists to the 2007 Oman Awards for Excellence have been announced in the presence of awards participants as well as the individual award sponsor representatives at Shangri La's Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa. The finalists are as follows.
Flame of Excellence, sponsored by BankMuscat: Matrah Cold Stores, Oman Cables Industry, OHI, Oman Chlorine and United Finance Company.
People Development Award, sponsored by Bank Sohar: BankMuscat, National Hospitality Institute, Oman LNG, Oman Wastewater Services Co; and Pizza Hut.
Small/Medium Enterprise Award, sponsored by The Youth Fund: Falcon Oilfield Services, United Dates Factory Co; and United Securities.
Environmental Award, sponsored by Oman Wastewater Services Co: Oman Refineries, Petroleum Development Oman and The Wave.
Exporter of the Year: Ali & Abdul Karim Trading Co; Oman Cables Industry and Oman Chlorine.
In addition to the finalists announced at the reception, Philip Stanton, Ernst & Young's Oman Awards committee member, also announced the details of the special '10 Years of Excellence' award, the winner of which will be announced on May 10 at a gala dinner and award ceremony to be held at the Shangri La.
The final judging process will begin in earnest in early May when the select panel of judges drawn from business executives, entrepreneurs, ministries, academics, and other suitable candidates will be asked to participate on a distinguished panel of judges to select a winner in each category.
