Omani share prices maintain momentum on MSM


(MENAFN- Times of Oman) MUSCAT — The MSM 30 index yesterday recorded gains to reach a high of 6,688 points before settling at 6,678, up by 0.12 per cent or eight points as compared to the previous day's close. However, the total trading value declined by one per cent to 4.08 million. The bourse traded 51 securities of which 16 closed higher and 17 closed lower. Banks and Investment index moved up by 0.19 per cent or 17.6 points to close at 9,283. Services and Insurance gained 0.04 per cent to close at 2,550. Industrial sector rose by 1.17 per cent or 74.5 points to close at 6,438. Oman International Bank, gained 2.04 per cent to settle at RO3.045. Omantel continued moving down to settle at RO1.151 from the previous close of RO1.153. National Mineral Water gained 6.06 per cent to settle at RO0.175 and Oman Cable Industry moved up by 5.60 per cent to RO1.755, to figure at the top spot in the gainers list. The top two losers were Al Jazeira Services and Dhofar International Development and Investment Holding Company. The former lost 1.70 per cent to close at RO0.231 and the latter 0.95 per cent to close at RO0.418. Volume leaders were Dhofar Cattle Feed with 674,300 shares and Al Anwar Ceramic with 623,520 shares. The value leader was Oman Cement with RO7486,804 traded.
