(MENAFN - Times of Oman) MUSCAT — The Muscat Securities Market (MSM) remained in the green zone, with the MSM 30 index closing at 5,848.52 points, up 0.71 per cent from the previous day's close. The banking/investment sector index and the industry sector index witnessed gains in value by 0.93 per cent and 0.97 per cent respectively, while the services sector index fell by 0.34 per cent.
Key stocks in the banking/investment sector that experienced gains in share value were: Onic Holding (up 2.49 per cent); BankDhofar (up 1.74 per cent); BankMuscat (up 1.12 per cent); Dhofar International Development and Investment Holding (up 1.05 per cent); and Oman and Emirates Investment Holding (up 0.31 per cent).
Ominvest (down 1.34 per cent), Oman International Bank (down 1.28 per cent) and Gulf Investment Services (down 1.09 per cent) were key losers in the sector. In the industry sector, Raysut Cement (up 2.69 per cent), Oman Cement (up 2.23 per cent) and Oman Chlorine (up 1.42 per cent) saw significant gains in share value.
Oman Flour Mills, however, closed at RO1.974, down 1.30 per cent from its previous close. Significant losers in the services sector were Shell Oman Marketing (down 0.75 per cent) and Dhofar Power (down 0.64 per cent).
Raysut Cement was the highest traded stock yesterday in terms of value traded, amounting to RO755,000. The share closed at RO1.374, 2.69 per cent above its previous close. On the whole, 27 stocks gained, 13 stocks declined and 13 stocks remained unchanged.
