(MENAFN - Times of Oman) MUSCAT — Share prices resumed their upward journey on the Muscat Securities Market yesterday by closing 12.23 points up at 5,807.53. With this the market again closed above the 5,800-level.
Yesterday's session was again marked by volume and interest in Bank Sohar; it traded close to 1.6 million shares to close 7.71 per cent higher at 0.880.
The stock has been in the limelight for the past few trading sessions with a lot of speculation and rumours doing the rounds. However, it looks like speculative buying. Raysut Cement also moved higher to close at RO1.338 with close to 602,000 shares traded. The stock has witnessed steady buying since its results came out; one saw interest, which was aggressive. Both NBO and OIB moved higher yesterday, on the other hand BankMuscat came off from higher levels yesterday to close at RO1.156. Oman Cement also witnessed activity, along with both the port stocks. Small-cap stocks like Oman Chlorine, Al Anwar Holding and Taageer Finance witnessed good activity yesterday.
Markets yesterday were steady with buying interest seen in frontline stocks as well as the broader market.
