(MENAFN - Times of Oman) MUSCAT — Share prices remained in the positive zone with the MSM-30 index closing up 0.63 per cent yesterday. Sector indices, too, made gains with the banking/investment sector closing up by 0.64 per cent, the industry sector index gaining by 0.19 per cent and the services sector index posting marginal gains of 0.06 per cent.
Industry sector stocks Oman Flour Mills and Majan Glass emerged amongst the top-five gainers, up by 2.04 per cent and 1.82 per cent, respectively. National Bank of Oman closed at RO5.452 and BankMuscat closed at RO1.159 leading the gains in the banking/investment sector index.
In the services sector index AES Barka and Omantel traded in the green to close up by 0.94 per cent and 0.81 per cent, respectively. The leading pack of losers in the index were: Transgulf Inv. Holding (down 1.27 per cent); Shell Oman Marketing (down 1.24 per cent); and Oman Chlorine (down 1.13 per cent).
On announcement of a new deal with Renaissance the stock emerged amongst the highest traded charts both in terms of volumes and value with a total market equity turnover of close to RO1.36 million. The market breadth was mainly in favour of the gainers with 23 advancers, 9 losers and 13 stocks remaining unchanged.
