MUSCAT — Alliance Housing Bank has reported a 12.2 per cent jump in its net profit for the first six months of the current year. The net profit rose from RO2.047 million in H1 2005 to RO2.297 million in H1 2006. The bank had posted a net profit of RO1.241 million for the first quarter of the year, recording a 20 per cent increase over the corresponding period of the previous year.
The board of directors of Oman Orix Leasing Company has issued a resolution reconstituting the company's audit committee. Sheikh Khalid Hilal Al Ma'awali, Darius S. Framroze and Syed Saeed Reza are the members.
Al Maha Petroleum Products has reported a net profit of RO1.993 million for the first half of the current year, registering a record 25 per cent increase.

Raysut Cement has made a net profit of RO10.071 million for the six-month period ended June 30, 2006 as against RO5.023 million recorded for the corresponding period of 2005.
The Sultanate's Consumer Price index has registered an increase of three per cent in the first five months of 2006. The general price index rose from 100.6 in May 2005 to 103.6 in May 2006, indicating an increase in inflation.
