Two charged in robbery, assault at Edgewood hotel

Nov 09, 2012 (Menafn - The Aegis - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --Two people from Edgewood have been charged with allegedly breaking into a hotel room Saturday morning and assaulting and robbing two people staying there, the Harford County Sheriff's Office said.

Nathaniel Theodore Twaite, of the 1700 block of Fountain Rock Way, and Marina May Lynn Davis, 1988, of the 600 block of Harr Park Court, are charged with armed robbery, first-degree burglary, first and second-degree assault and theft less than 100 in connection with the assault of a 29-year-old man who had rented a room at the Days Inn Hotel, in the 2100 block of Emmorton Park Road in Edgewood, with his 17-year-old girlfriend.

Around 5 a.m. Saturday, the victims told police, they were sleeping in their hotel room when the door lock disengaged and the door opened. A white man and white woman entered the room. The man, identified as Teddy Robinson, also known as Twaite, began choking the male victim and threw him to the floor. The victim said he was 100 percent positive the man assaulting him was Twaite, who also kicked him in the face and began choking him.

Twaite allegedly told Davis, who had forced the girl in the room face down on the bed with a knife to her neck, to grab the "burner."

He allegedly said he was going to shoot the male victim, who said he heard the sound of metal near his ear coming from what he believed to be a gun. The victim said Twaite allegedly forced the gun against his head then told him to empty his pockets and give him all his money, according to the police report.

The victim handed over a bag of marijuana, his wallet with 50 cash, a visa card, a Maryland ID, a government ID and other cards.

When the victim said he didn't have any more money, Twaite allegedly got more and more angry and continued to kick and punch the victim in his face and body, according to the report.

Davis and Twaite are both being held on 200,000 bail at the Harford County Detention Center.
