Second store to open in new shopping center in Myrtle Beach area this week
Aug 01, 2012 (Menafn - The Sun News - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --The new Target off S.C. 544 is about to get its first neighbor in the new Sayebrook Town Center shopping complex.
Marshalls, which sells brand name clothing and other merchandise at discount prices, is set to open at 8 a.m. Thursday and stay open until 10 p.m. that day. It's Marshalls second Grand Strand location, with the other one on the north end in Arcadian Shores Commons off Kings Road at U.S. 17 near S.C. 22.
A third store in the Sayebrook shopping center, Petco, plans to open Sept. 21. It's Petco's first store along the Grand Strand.
Target was the first store to open in the Sayebrook Town Center a week ago. It's the second Grand Strand location for the national retailer, with its original store on Seaboard Street in Myrtle Beach.
Target, Marshalls and Petco are the only announced tenants in the Sayebrook shopping center, though officials with the developer, The Jackson Cos., continue talking with stores and restaurants about moving in.
The shopping center is one of several new additions in the area of S.C. 544 and U.S. 17 Bypass.
Dollar Tree and McDonald's have opened this summer in South Strand Commons, home to the area's only Kohl's store.
Construction continues beside Kohl's on PetSmart, which plans to open Oct. 6.
And just south of the shopping centers, a drive-through Starbucks plans to open in early October beside Queen's Harbour.
Crews also have cleared the last vacant corner at the S.C. 544 and U.S. 17 Bypass interchange, but The Jackson Cos., which owns the land, has said it hasn't yet decided what stores and restaurants will build there.
