Standard Life accelerates claims processing with TELUS Health eClaims solution

MONTREAL, Oct. 9, 2012, 2012 (Menafn - Canada NewsWire via COMTEX) --Paperless option enables participating healthcare specialists to electronically submit claims at the point-of-care on behalf of clients

TELUS Health entered into an agreement with Standard Life today that will reduce out-of pocket expenses for plan members, decrease time spent processing insurance paperwork for care providers and streamline the reimbursement process. The TELUS Health eClaims web portal is a simple, practical and faster way to submit electronic claims as it allows participating healthcare providers across Canada, such as physiotherapists, chiropractors, visioncare providers,as well as acupuncturists, massage therapists and naturopathic doctors in certain provinces to submit them directly on behalf of patients at their point-of-care.

Standard Life is integrating TELUS Health's eClaims service into its advanced TELUS Health Multi-Benefit Claims Management (MBCM) platform. This powerful, intelligent, rule-based adjudication engine enables Standard Life to benefit from the full potential of eClaims, which includes strict monitoring of the claim adjudication process, less manual intervention, increased service quality and significant improvement in terms of operational efficiency for Standard Life.

"We, at Standard Life, are committed to listening and responding to our customers, and providing products and services that exceed their expectations," said Jacques Latour, Vice-President, Sales, Group Insurance, Standard Life. "The TELUS Health eClaims service and the integrated next-generation adjudication platform allows us to offer our plan members and our plan sponsors an easy-to-use service that simplifies and accelerates the claim submission process for everyone."

"TELUS Health invests heavily in the development of our product portfolio to drive efficiencies across the entire claims process and reduce manual interventions so healthcare providers can spend more time providing the best possible care to their patients," said Luc Vilandr, Vice President, Health Benefits Management, TELUS Health. "Standard Life will be one of the first to benefit from the full potential of TELUS Health's eClaims solution due to its integration with the TELUS MBCM adjudication engine, allowing for real-time claims adjudication capabilities and optimal operational efficiency while ensuring the flexibility to incorporate new features and functionalities."
