BRIEF: Lake Forest wins eighth straight

Jan 26, 2013 (Menafn - Duluth News Tribune - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --Lake Forest scored three times in the final nine minutes, including two empty-net goals, to defeat St. Scholastica 4-1 in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association women's game at Mars Lakeview Arena.

The Foresters (10-2-4 overall, 7-1-4 NCHA) have won eight straight games and haven't allowed more than one goal in the last seven. Forest Lake is tied for first place in the league.

Monika Waidacher tied the game 1-1 for St. Scholastica 86 seconds into the third period. Sarah Gilbride put the Foresters ahead to stay with 9:03 to play. Melissa Paluc, with 25 seconds remaining, and Emily Wybo, with one second left, finished the scoring.

The Saints (9-6-3, 6-5-2) was outshot 32-28. Winning goalie Stacey Dierking had 27 saves.
