Kuwaiti Finance Minister Denies Reports About Intervention in KSE

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Sheikh Salem Abdulaziz Al-Saud Al-Sabah on Friday denied reports claiming the ministry planned to intervene in Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) to stem the bearish trend which occurred recently. The minister said in a statement to KUNA today that the intervention in the stock market was not part of his considerations in dealing with variations that take place at the KSE. The KSE shed 472 points in last week's trades, coinciding with a general bearish trend that gripped world and regional markets, against backdrop of a possible military strike on Syria. Hefty sell-offs at the KSE targeted blue-chips and small stocks in the past week sessions.
