Jordan- Three Egyptians charged with premeditated murder of colleague

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) Criminal Court Prosecutor Ramzi Nawayseh on Saturday charged three Egyptians with the premeditated murder of their colleague in the capital's Marj Hamam neighbourhod on Thursday, according to a senior official source. The three suspects, aged between 24 and 26, reportedly confessed to murdering their compatriot and robbing him of JD1,200, the source told The Jordan Times. The three suspects and the victim, all residents of the Wadi Seer area, worked in the construction sector and were friends. "The three suspects had an argument with the victim and decided to take revenge and kill him," the source said. The suspects also knew that the victim kept some cash on him and decided to rob him as well, the source added. On Thursday morning, the three suspects reportedly lured the victim to a deserted area and strangled him with a rope and stole JD1,200, according to the source. "The three men placed rocks on his body and left. A shepherd found the body later in the day and alerted authorities," the source said. The authorities arrested the three Egyptians the following day following an intense investigation, the source added without elaborating. Nawayseh issued orders for the three suspects to be detained at the Jweideh Correctional and Rehabilitation Centre for 15 days pending further investigation into the case, according to the source.
