Innovate 2014

China is innovating, the government is emphasising on indigenous innovation, underlined in the latest five-year plan. McKinsey & Company reported a doubling of the global percentage of patents granted to Chinese inventors since 2005. However, Chinese and multinational organisations bring different strengths to fight for the leading position in the market, the competition has never been fiercer. Companies are facing numerous challenges when it comes to innovating rapidly and effectively, including an absence of advanced techniques for understanding-analytically, not just intuitively-what customers really want, corporate cultures that don’t support risk taking, and a scarcity of the sort of internal collaboration that is essential for developing new ideas.
