Rashid was performing the Yola dance at the wedding in the Wum area of Dibba, Fujairah, on Thursday night when the gun he was using for the popular dance gave way, killing a compatriot and injuring two others.
Saeed Al Sureidi, 37, living at Wadi Sedr, succumbed to the injuries he received from the gunshot, at the Dibba Fujairah hospital.
Rashid's brother Mohamad, 18, was seriously injured from the gunshot, while Waleed Ali Al Hafiti, 17, who suffered minor injuries, was discharged from the hospital the same night.
Brigadier Mohammad Ahmed bin Ghanim, Chief Commander of the Fujairah Police, said the police were informed at about 10pm on Thursday that three locals had received gunshot injuries during a wedding celebration. Police patrols and an ambulance rushed to the scene.
"The three Emirati men were shifted to Dibba Fujairah hospital for medical aid, but one died upon reaching the hospital while another is in critical condition," Ghanim added.
Primary investigation showed that a local man had used a gun to perform the Yola dance, but an accident occurred resulting in gunshots injuring three men, he explained.
Abdullah Salem Al Kaabi, director of Dibba Fujairah hospital, confirmed that three men had been brought to the hospital out of which one succumbed to his injuries a few hours later.
