BRIEF: Stores set opening dates for Epps Bridge Centre
Sep 07, 2013 (Menafn - Athens Banner-Herald - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --Two businesses in the Epps Bridge Centre recently hung banners announcing their opening dates, with a third confirming when it'll open its doors.
Five Below and Off Broadway Shoes will open Sept. 27. Pier 1 Imports will beat them to the punch by 10 days.
Others, such as Dick's Sporting Goods, still have not released an opening date, though it promises a three-day bash to celebrate its grand opening sometime this fall.
The 76 million Epps Bridge Centre, near Epps Bridge Road and the Oconee Connector, began seeing activity this summer with the opening of University 16 Cinemas and recent openings by Marshalls, the Gap and Old Navy. A Pet Smart is also slated for the new shopping center.
"It's going to be a big benefit for the county and it's going to be a big benefit to the region," Oconee County Board of Commissioners Chairman Melvin Davis said last week during Marshalls grand opening of the new retail outlets that recently opened or soon plan to open in the Epps Bridge Centre.
Davis predicted the sales tax benefit for Oconee County might reach 1.8 million once the shopping center fills out.
