Women among 11 injured in Laghman explosion


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) Eleven people, including five women, were injured in a landmine explosion in the capital of eastern Laghman province on Saturday, an official said.

Sarhadi Zwak, the governor€™s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the explosion happened at around 11:30am inside a shop in the Hji Ayub Market in Mehtarlam.

Five women, two children and four men were wounded in the blast. The condition of the injured is said to be stable. The spokesman said an investigating team had been dispatched to the site.

Zwak added the motive behind the explosion could not be ascertained immediately.

Obaidulla, an eyewitness, said several injured people - most of them women - had been evacuated from the blast site. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing.
