Al-Mazen center calls on PM to pay Gaza's PA employees

(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Al Mezan Centre for Human Rights appealed to Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah to pay the salaries of PA employees in the Gaza Strip.

The Centre emphasized that the delay in the payment of salaries of government employees in Gaza along with the rumors that accompanied it created feelings of despair and frustration among employees and their families.

He pointed out that "it is no secret to the Prime Minister what tragedies the smallest reduction in the employees' salaries has caused in a reality where people are suffering from lack of choices, and their humanitarian situation is being deteriorated in an unprecedented manner since the Palestinian Nakba."

There have been fears that the situation in the Gaza Strip could explode at any time as Palestinians in the enclave have been forced to live in dire conditions as a result of Israel's numerous wars, the 11-year siege which has limited supplies, stopped construction and stopped Palestinians from travelling, along with a reduction in aid payments to UNRWA hindering the international organisation's ability to provide for those most in need.
