Turkey, France call for 'close dialogues' over Syrian crisis


(MENAFN) Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan and French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized the significance of "close dialogues" to take place for the Syrian crisis to be resolved.

The French presidency issued a statement declaring both presidents to have seen eye to eye during their phone call that "deep and intense exchanges will continue in the coming days on Syria".

It also confirmed the French president to have "recalled the strategic importance of our partnership with Turkey, especially on the fight against terrorism and in addressing all regional crises, as well as our attention to Turkey's security interests."

The French president also asked his Turkish counterpart "to give top priority to the fight against the Islamic State" in Syria and respect "without more delay" determination to eradicate violence in Syria and come up with a permanent political resolution.
