Suspected US drone kills 7 in Yemen

(MENAFN) A suspected US drone strike has killed seven people, allegedly belonging to al-Qaida operatives in the central Marib province in Yemen.

They said Thursday's strike hit a house believed to have been used by the militants.
The U.S. is believed to have carried out at least five drone strikes in Yemen since the beginning of March.

Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula, as the Yemen affiliate is known, has long been seen as the global network's most dangerous branch.

Saudi Arabia and some other countries attacked Yemen in March 2015 to re-empower the deposed president of Yemen Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi.

Thousands of Yemenis have been killed in the Arabian-American coalition's attack and more than 2,000 have died due to cholera epidemic.
