Saudi Arabia participates in International Decade for Action for Water

United Nations, Rajab 06, 1439, March 23, 2018, SPA -- Saudi Arabia participated in the International Decade for Action for Water Conference which was held here yesterday.
Saudi Arabia was represented at the opening session of the conference by Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahia Al-Maalami and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture for Water Affairs Dr. Faisal Al-Subaie.
The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterich, in a speech at the conference stressed the importance of safe water and sanitation, to reduce poverty and promote economic growth and support ecosystems.
It is worth mentioning that the Decade was launched in conjunction with World Water Day, March 22.
