UAE, US, Saudi form new anti-Iran committee


(MENAFN) A new trilateral American-Saudi-Emirati committee will be established this week, with the target of building closer coordination to counter Iran's 'destabilizing behavior,' a senior US official revealed on Monday.

Briefing reporters, the Trump administration official said an announcement to form the trilateral committee will be made on the margins of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman visit to the United States that started Monday.

Members of the committee will meet regularly to coordinate tactics and mechanisms to achieve mutual interests, the official said.

The announcement will likely come to light later in the week and before Crown Prince Mohammed leaves Washington for Boston on Saturday. Representatives from the three countries will be present to inaugurate it.

UAE National Security adviser Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan will arrive in Washington later in the week for that purpose, The National has reported.
