EU urged to impose new sanctions against Iran

(MENAFN) The EU has received an appeal from French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian to implement new sanctions against Iran.

The request has come as a result of Iran's missile program along with suspicions around it of having a part in Syria and Yemen.

During a meeting with the EU on Iran, The French Foreign Minister called for the 2015 nuclear deal of Iran to be honored.

Minister Le Drian added "but we must not exclude Iran's responsibility in the proliferation of ballistic missiles and in its very questionable role in the near- and Middle East," he urged "that must also be discussed to reach a common position."
