Kuwait: The State of Qatar participated in the first meeting of the executive committee of Terrorist Financing Targeting Center (TFTC) held on Monday in the State of Kuwait. The high-level delegation included individuals from national counter-terrorism and combating terrorism financing committees, led by Special Envoy of Qatar's Foreign Minister for Counterterrorism and Mediation of Conflict Resolution, H E Dr. Mutlaq bin Majed Al Qahtani.
The meeting constructively and effectively discussed the main principles of governance in the working framework of TFTC between its seven members which are: Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and the US. The Centre was established in 2017 after the US-Gulf Summit held in Riyadh, as a collaborative approach to confronting new and evolving threats arising from terrorist financing. The TFTC represents a new and creative response that leverages existing tools and formalises cooperation between the US, its partners in the Gulf to counter terrorist financing.
