Lebanon: Grenade attack at Palestinian refugee camp

(MENAFN) On Sunday, an unknown individual hurled a hand grenade in the Palestinian refugee camp of Ain el-Hilweh in south Lebanon, the National News Agency reported.

No casualties resulted on the incident which took place at camp's al-Ras al-Ahmar neighborhood, NNA said.

This camp has been the ground of different armed clashes in the recent years.

The Lebanese army does not enter this camp, where security is managed by joint committees of Palestinian factions.

Ain el-Hilweh is a penurious, overcrowded camp near the coastal city of Sidon, and is home to some 61,000 Palestinians, including 6,000 who have fled the war in Syria.
