Women, children among 8 killed in Herat accident


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Eight people, including four women and two children, were killed and 13 others wounded in a traffic accident in western Herat province on Wednesday, an official said.

The accident occurred in the Sahra-i-Asar Khak locality of Adrasakan district early in the morning when a passenger coach ploughed into another vehicle, the provincial police spokesman said.

Abdul Ahad Wali Zada told Pajhwok Afghan News the ill-fated passenger vehicle was heading from Herat City, the provincial capital, to Farsi district. Four women and two children were among the eight people killed, he added.

At least 13 people were injured in the collision. The victims were evacuated to the zonal hospital by police personnel and the injured are said to be in stable condition.
