Woman hurt in Sharjah fire succumbs to injuries


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) A Sudanese woman injured in the horrific Al Butina apartment blaze in Sharjah on February 13 has succumbed to her injuries.

Amna Ali Karam, director of Kuwait Hospital in Sharjah had said to Khaleej Times that a Sudanese couple was rushed by the police to their emergency department. They had inhaled too much smoke and the wife's condition was critical as she was suffering from asthma.

We have now learned that the woman passed away today, nine days after the accident.

Five people, including two children, were killed after a fire broke out in their apartment in Sharjah at 3 am.

The two children are believed to have died of suffocation, according to preliminary investigations. However, the victims were living in different apartments.

Eight seriously suffocated residents of the building have been admitted to the Kuwait Hospital.

The five deceased included a Moroccan woman (38) and her two children, aged 4 and 6. The other two were one Indian man (35) and a Pakistani woman (40).
