Abbas addresses the UN Security Council

(MENAFN) The Palestinian leader, Mahmud Abbas, proposed a peace plane at the United Nations Security Council which goes to the core issues, which have blocked peace efforts over the past few decades.

"To solve the Palestine question, it is essential to establish a multilateral international mechanism emanating from an international conference," Abbas told the UN Security Council.

Abbas said that the resolutions of the conference has to include, the acceptance of the State of Palestine as a full member state at the UN and seeking the security council, and refraining from all unilateral moves during negotiations, especially those which affect the results of the final solution.

He stressed the fact that putting an end to settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories in 1967, including East Jerusalem and freezing of the decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and stopping the embassy transfer to Jerusalem will help achieve the peace in the region.
