Egypt: Russia's flights to be postponed to April

(MENAFN) The flights from Russia to Egypt resumption has been postponed to April, according to Cairo airport official in Tuesday.

They blamed the postponement on delays in reopening offices of the countries' national airlines.

The officials explained that modern baggage-scanning equipment has been set up and Russian security men will be permitted to supervise operations in Cairo as part of the reopening of the route, initially planned for February.

Moscow put off flights to Egypt after the crash of a Russian airliner over Sinai in October 2015, killing all 224 people on board.

President Vladimir Putin on a visit to Cairo in December said the deal on the resumption of flights could be signed "in the nearest time."
