Afghanistan finish Sharjah ODI series in style


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan on Monday cruised to a 146-run victory over Zimbabwe in their 5th and final ODI in Sharjah, winning the series 4-1.

Afghanistan posted 241-9 from their 50 overs after winning the toss and choosing to bat first.

Javed Ahmadi contributed 76 valuable runs while Rahmat Shah struck 59 as Shahzad with 2 runs, Samiullah Shinwari 5, Asghar Stanikzai 2, Nasir Jamal 7 and Mohammad Nabi with 9 failed to reach double digits.

However, later Rashid Khan struck 43 off 29 balls and Ashrafuddin 21, taking the total to 241.

Zimbabwe could not chased the target and were bowled out for just 95, thanks to Rashid Khan who took the final three wickets to lead his side to a 146-run victory.

Afghanistan, who hosted the tournament, won the five-match series 4-1.
