New Samangan governor arrives takes charge today


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) AIBAK (Pajhwok): Abdul Latif Ibrahimi, the newly appointed governor for northern Samangan province, has arrived in Aibak, the provincial capital where he would be introduced to his position.

Earlier, the Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG) announced that in line with its suggestion and approval from the Presidential Palace, the governors of six provinces had been reshuffled.

IDLG introduced Abdul Latif Ibrahimi as new governor of Samangan, replacing Abdul Karim Khedam.

Ibrahimi arrived from Baghlan to Samangan and was warmly welcomed by security forces while strict security measures had been put in place.

Intelligence Director Aziz Rahman told reporters that Abdul Latif Ibrahimi would be introduced as new governor of the province today and there was no opposition to his appointment.
