Jordan: Palestinian protest against cutting aid

(MENAFN) A protest against the US administration decision to cut aids for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has been organized on Sunday by the Committee for Defending the Right of Return in Jordan and Al Hussein Camp Higher Committee in front of UNRWA's office in Jabal An-Nuzha in northern Amman.

The protesters said that the decision is announcing a political and economic war against the Palestinian refugees and a step that paves the way for chaos and tensions between Palestinians and host Arab countries.

They urged the international community to provide the needed support to the UNRWA in line with international obligations to stop the US from applying their plans to support the Israeli occupation.

The Committee for Defending the Right of Return was established by Palestinian refugees in Jordan to defend their right to return to Palestine, after the Oslo Agreement in 1993 and the Israel-Jordan Peace Treaty in 1994.
