Qatar partners with IAEA to launch seven projects


(MENAFN) Director of the Radiation and Chemical Protection Department Aisha Ahmed Al Baker has revealed that in partnership with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Qatar is to launch seven projects in several sectors, such as health and food security.

The director declared "under 2018-19 plan, two projects are being implemented in food sector; one project with Agricultural Research Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment and another one with food laboratory run by the Ministry of Health."

She continued "one of the projects is aimed at preparing cadres to tackle the emergency condition of nuclear radiation by providing necessary equipment and trainings."

Al Baker also revealed other initiative to be in connection with medical radiation technology along with areas in the education sector.
