"Bank of Jordan's presence here will positively reflect on its business and help foster commercial and financial ties between the two countries," he added.

In turn, Shaker Fakhouri, Chairman of the Board of Bank of Jordan, said: "We picked Bahrain as our first regional hub due to its prominent record as a center for banking services. The Central Bank of Bahrain has a noted reputation as high-profile regulator in the GCC region. Moreover, Bahrain has a strategic location in the GCC area, a fact that gives us the opportunity to expand our wholesale banking activities and relationships with the regional banks and companies."
