Fire kills 7 siblings in UAE


(MENAFN) The east coast of the UAE have seen a tragedy on Monday morning when seven siblings belonging to Al Suraidi family died in their sleep due to suffocation after a fire broke out in their room.

Hundreds of villagers and residents from the neighboring towns and villages joined the funeral, offering condolences to the enduring members of the family, which includes the grieving mother, a grandfather, uncles and cousins.

The siblings were orphans as their father passed away five years ago.

As the village's main mosque overflowed with grievers the authorities decided to organize the funeral prayers in the graveyard, the narrow streets were closed as scores of motorists lined up to visit the family's house and the graveyard.

The bodies of the children, four girls and three boys aged between five and 13, were first brought by three ambulances to their grandfather's ancestral home before heading to the graveyard after the Dhuhr (noon) prayers.
