Oman, BP sign seven-year 1.1 mtpa LNG agreement

(MENAFN) Oman LNG has agreed to supply BP's Singapore-based trading unit with 1.1 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) annually for a timeline of seven years.

Oman's Minister of Oil and Gas Al Rumhy has been present at the signing session which took place in Muscat along with BP LNG Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Shepard.

The first production from BP's giant Khazzan gas field in September has offered a rebound from Oman's decline in output of 10.4 million-tonnes-per-annum-capacity (mtpa) LNG plant.

Data on the Thomson Reuters Eikon terminal found Oman LNG to have exported 8.2 mtpa in 2017, compared with 8 mtpa in 2016, 7.6 mtpa in 2015 and 7.4 mtpa in 2014.
